Are you an Artisan specialty food entrepreneur in the San Francisco, San Jose area of California?
If so this may be a festival to showcase your specialty foods to the right target market.
Award-winning olive oils, premium chocolates, Hollister grown dried Blenheim apricots and acclaimed local wines are just a few of the artisanal creations that are produced in San Benito County in the Central Coast region. These local products and more will be showcased at the First Annual San Benito Olive Festival on Saturday, October 19, 2013, from 11am to 5 pm, at the scenic Paicines Ranch, located just 12 miles south of Hollister.
The San Benito Olive Festival will be an opportunity to taste various handcrafted olive oils, including those made by Brigantino Olive Oil and Oil of Paicines, which continue to win prestigious gold medals for their organic varieties. The selected extra virgin olive oils will be paired with an array of premium foods and artisanal creations provided by Running Rooster, Ladera Grill, San Juan Oaks Dining, Doña Esther Restaurant, Marich Confectionery, B & R Farms and Papa Joe's Spicy Products, among others. Some of the prestigious wineries offering wine tasting will be Calera Wine, Pietra Santa Winery, Pessagno Winery, Guglielmo Winery and Jayse Wines.
This gourmet celebration will include cooking demonstrations by Central Coast foodie legend Dorothy McNett and the Gilroy Garlic Festival's popular celebrity chef team of Gene Sakahara and Sam Bozzo, also known as SakaBozzo. Renowned chefs and restaurant owners, Maurizio Cutrignelli of Maurizio's Restaurant in Morgan Hill and Matt Woolston of Supper Club/ Matteo's in the Sacramento area will also be featured.
Along with enjoying delicious food, wine and chocolates, festival goers will be treated to live music, local arts and cultural exhibits, as well as the scenic beauty of the Paicines Ranch, a sprawling 7,500-acre working ranch located at 13388 Airline Highway (Highway 25). Established in the mid-1800s, this gorgeous setting has hosted many events over the years, including the wedding of Judy Garland and Sid Luft in 1952.
General admission tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children. VIP admission is $30, which includes access to the wine tasting.
