Favorites Under 400 Calories is McDonalds effort to making nutrition information accessible. Making it easy according to the company "empower our customers and employees to make choices that are right for their nutrition needs," said Neil Golden, Chief Marketing Officer, McDonald's USA. The company says about 80 percent of national menu choices are under 400 calories for the standard recipe.
How Does McDonalds Make it Easy to Buy?
So what is the consumer problem here? Well it seems that people want healthy meals that are affordable and get them quickly... ostensibly why one goes to a Quick Service Restaurant. So how are they making it easy for the consumer?
The Apple App Store has a brief description of their App and I can't see how the Under 400 program is integrated here. Having this Under 400 info on a web site when we make QSR eating decisions mostly while we are driving or in the store... well ....
