Food Network TV series is looking for Food Entrepreneurs for new TV Show

By October 8, 2011

Follow me on:

A new reality TV show on the Food Network is looking for FOOD ENTREPRENEURS preferably in, but not limited to, the greater NYC area (NY, NJ, CT).  Specifically, people who have left their previous career and have little-to-no prior professional food experience, but are taking a risk to pursue their passion of launching their own food business.

Food Network appears to be focusing on food-preneurs and restaurant-preneurs with shows such as Restaurant Impossible and The Great Food Truck Race.

They want food entrepreneurs who are planning to open a brick-and-mortar space (restaurant or singular food ideas welcome) before the end of 2011.  Those chosen will receive culinary & business coaching from a major celebrity chef and restaurateur, Bobby Flay, as well as invaluable national publicity.

The show appears to be focused on restaurant food entrepreneurs (restaurant-preneurs) but if you are planning to open a specialty food retail store it still pays to drop them an email. Most of the show is still under wraps so what you see here is it.

They are currently casting in the greater NYC area for this pilot, but will be casting nationally after that.

Those interested that fit the guidelines, please email the following to foodtvshow@gmail.com or Heather Briggs, Embassy Row at hrb@embassyrow.com- Outline your timeline, budget, menu, team, and especially what's at stake for you in this endeavor (why you are doing it and what risks, financial as well as personal, you are taking). The Food Network is highly interested in the "human interest" angle of your story.

There is also a Twitter account and a Facebook page for more information. The Food Network will be accepting stories through February and is casting nationally.

What about a new travel/wine/Food/Lifestyle TV show? Isn’t it time to wash down all that food from the thousands of cooking shows? Its kinda like diners drive-ins and dives but with wine! It already has a strong package of product’s and rock solid concepts to monetize!

It’s called “Jason Elkin Uncorked”!

Great, concise article, Domenick! I help new cooks feel comfortable making a meal for themselves through step-by-step picture book and video cooking. Just shot off an email to Heather Briggs.

Thanks for the info – Bruce
